Brushed Cotton Fabric Information

Our brushed fabrics are soft and versatile. Made from cotton poly blend in different weaves, you can choose the right one for your DIY project. Brushed fabric gives the face a smooth texture, as the fibres are slightly raised. Warm, ever so slightly 'fluffy' surfaces make these fabrics ideal for a variety of creative DIY activities, such as upholstery, home furnishings and accessories, bags and other craft projects. Because only one side is brushed, the reverse of the face is slightly firmer, so these brushed poly fabric blends are malleable and will hold their shape well.

How Do You Print my Designs on Brushed Fabric?

We use a specialist digital process called dye sublimation, which binds the ink to the textile creating an everlasting print. The colours and details of your design really pop, thanks to the white base tone and matt finish. Depending on the needs of your DIY or craft project, you can select from 4 different edge finishes: cut on the line; hemmed with white thread; hemmed with black thread or just as it comes. The creative freedom really is yours.
 

Important: For all hemming and shrinkage information, please make yourself familiar with our guidelines. This is essential for when measuring your brushed fabric.

What Can I Use Cotton Poly Brushed Fabric For?

The warm, soft face lends this fabric well to decorative home furnishings. Soft against the skin but durable enough to encounter wear and tear, enjoy making things such as throw cushions, upholstery, doorstops, seat pads, bolster cushions and even bags! Printed with your own designs, you can make each room in your home unique. Some of the stiffer brushed fabrics with shorter fibres can also be used for small craft projects as they are easy to manipulate. 

How to Care for Your Brushed Cotton Fabric

Our brushed fabrics are tough, durable and resilient, so you can put them in the washing machine at 30°, tumble dry on medium or hang dry. Iron on a low heat. Do not wring dry. Because of the raised fibres, they are prone to static build up, so wipe clean regularly to remove any dust.
